Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM Pancake Lens

I love black & white photography! Like anyone else who learned to shoot using Kodak Tri-X film, everything just looks better in black & white. This past week I rented the famed Canon 40mm pancake lens from borrow lenses.com. I was not disappointed. Not only is it a great little lens, but it’s cheap. And it’s perfect for the medium. I shot these pictures at my cousin’s house, and I felt like I was back in high school shooting with my old Canon AE-1. I love this lens, check out the gallery below.

PORTRAITS: Roomates Photoshoot

Photoshoot while on vacation... what else would a photographer do for fun? I was limited to the equipment I carried onto the plane. I lit the background with two Nikon speedlights on slave mode. One had a blue gel and the other a red gel. I had another speedlight mounted on my D300s. All in all, fun shoot!
